Inner lip aesthetics, which can be applied for both cosmetic and functional reasons, is one of the most frequently applied genital aesthetic procedures. Defects in the inner lips, which have sagging due to various reasons and therefore their asymmetry deteriorates, can be corrected with inner lip aesthetics in accordance with the anatomical structure. Thanks to inner lip aesthetic surgery, it is possible to achieve extremely successful results both in terms of aesthetics and functionality.
Inner lips, in other words labia minora, is one of the external genital organs of women, and surgical operations performed for their reduction and shortening are called labiaplasty or inner lip aesthetics. Inner lip aesthetic has many sexual, functional, psychological and hygienic benefits.
Even if the inner lips are normal size structurally, they can sag due to factors such as multiple births, hormonal changes due to menopause, rapid weight gain and trauma during vaginal delivery, and in this case, it is not possible for the outer lips to completely cover the inner lips. In women whose inner lips are normal size and who have not given birth, subcutaneous adipose tissue may decrease due to aging and the inner lips may sag. There may also be cases where the inner lips of some women are structurally larger than normal or asymmetrical.
Inner lip aesthetics;
Inner lip aesthetics can be performed under local or general anesthesia. Large and drooping inner lips are reduced and reshaped to gain a normal appearance. In the surgical procedure completed in approximately 30 – 60 minutes; Deepitelization, V plasty, laser labioplasty, Z plasty, partial resection and upper pedicle reconstruction as well as lower wedge resection techniques can be used.
Before the operation, the patient is examined and the operation is planned by learning about her complaints and expectations from the operation. The type of anesthesia that will be used for the operation is determined by the patient. Like all aesthetic operations, inner lip aesthetic is definitely planned and applied for the patient. During the planning, the degree of the problem, the metabolism, the condition of the tissues and the doctor’s evaluation have the determining feature.
The inner lips are regions with an extremely rich structure in the direction of blood supply. Therefore, the recovery process after labiaplasty is usually fast. Complications are very rare in patients after inner lip aesthetic surgery. It is normal to see redness, tenderness and swelling in the vulva due to edema in the early period following the operation. Cold compress application may be helpful to relieve edema. One of the most important conditions for a fast and healthy healing process is to pay maximum attention to the cleanliness and dryness of the vaginal area.
Depending on the suture material used in inner lip aesthetic surgery, the sutures may fall off or be absorbed by the body within 10-15 days. Although it varies from person to person, complete recovery occurs in about 30 days. In order to experience a healthy recovery, the drugs prescribed by the doctor should be used regularly, and sexual intercourse should be avoided for 4-6 weeks. For 4 weeks following the operation, it is necessary not to enter the sea and the pool, to stay away from activities such as horse, motor and bicycle riding, to avoid sports that include stretching movements such as yoga and pilates, and not to use tampons.
Genital aesthetic operations such as labiaplasty cannot be performed during delivery. For this reason, it is necessary to wait at least 3 months after the birth in order to perform the operations in question.
Labiaplasty does not prevent pregnancy or normal or cesarean delivery.
Since the hymen is located in the vagina, it is not possible to be damaged by inner lip aesthetics.
Local or general anesthesia may be preferred.
